What is Foodaism?
There are a lot of really good recipes here. There’s writing, about food, travel, restaurants, gardening, politics. Most by me, but some by — you. There’s insights into food’s power to connect us to family, nature, community and something bigger than ourselves — what I call foodaism.
If you’re looking for great Jewish recipes, yep, also here. I’ve cooked, written, edited, taught, served and eaten Jewish food for many, many Passovers. My foodaism began with Judaism, and I am so happy to share what I’ve learned with you.
But say you’re not a Jew. Foodaism is for anyone who knows that food is a way to experience the best things any religion can offer: a sense of gratitude, tradition, community, connection to others, to nature, and to something ineffable and mysterious behind it all.
